- 20-hour course – for learners with reasonable car control who have had some previous experience
- 30-hour course – for those with some past lessons who need to fill gaps and build consistency

Step 4: Brush Up on the Highway Code
You don’t need to memorise every rule — but a proper read-through of the Highway Code before your course will make every lesson more productive. Pay particular attention to:
- Road signs and speed limits
- Rules at junctions, crossroads, and roundabouts
- Stopping distances at different speeds
- Rules relating to pedestrians, cyclists, and vulnerable road users
Even a focused 45-minute review will help you absorb instructor commentary faster when you’re in the car.
Step 5: Be Ready to Commit Fully to Your Course Days
Intensive courses work because they’re concentrated and consistent. That means being mentally present, well-rested, and available for the full duration of your course days. Try not to book other significant commitments during your course. Eat well, sleep properly, and come ready to focus each morning.
Many learners find driving more mentally tiring than they expect — especially in the first couple of days. That’s completely normal and it passes quickly. Trust the process.
